At Roots Krokus, we celebrate the cosmic journey of the Prince of Animals, whose dance and painting embody deep cultural values. For over 40 years, we’ve expressed joy, peace, and balance through folkloric art, inviting the spirit of creation and ancestors to inspire every movement and brushstroke.

The Prince of Animals embodies the cosmic spirit, merging personal identity with universal truths. His movements represent the harmony between the self and the cosmos, flowing towards an inner state of peace and balance.

Through visual and performing arts, the Prince honors his cultural heritage. His dance becomes a vibrant celebration of the ancestors, embodying their wisdom and traditions, thus weaving a tapestry of history into each performance.

The Prince transforms his body into a canvas, using dance and painting as mediums for expression. Every movement is infused with intention, showcasing the beauty and complexity of life through rhythm and visual storytelling.
Dance is a powerful expression of cultural heritage that harmonizes the body, mind, and spirit. It reflects the joy of life, allowing individuals to celebrate their ancestry through movement that tells stories of their lineage.
I am Prince of Animals, born on the first day of a new year away from home (Al-Kebulan). Home is where the cosmic conscious spirit mind of the creator dwells. My journey home moves me towards an inner state of peace, justice and balance. My every thought, action and deed will forever strive to manifest such a divine spirit state of conscious joy.
Hence, I am dancing and painting my way around the earth in time. Sometimes out of time.
For over some 40+ years now performing and dancing professionally. I have been painting pictures with my body. With my mind’s eye I’m able to express my thoughts through the movements of my head, legs, arms and a brush.
What I have done through my folkloric visual and performing art is to allow the creator, the ancestors, EgunGuns, the Jambull, Highlandels and Mcojumbee to epitomize my deeply held cultural values of what for me are the most beautiful expressions of my art form.

My artistic journey embodies the union of physical movement and mental clarity, as I express my thoughts through dance and painting, creating a harmonious balance between the two that fosters inner peace.

Through my art, I connect with my ancestors and cultural heritage, allowing their spirits to guide my creative expressions. This deep-rooted connection provides a sense of belonging and reinforces my pursuit of justice and balance.

Every performance is a celebration of joy and creativity that transcends time. Through the movements of my body, I convey the essence of happiness, aiming to uplift the spirit of all who witness my art.
I Performed and choreographed dances in accordance with the mission of Art of Black Dance and Music: Sharing the essence of Black Dance whose styles and techniques are derived from traditional and contemporary movement from the Caribbean, the Americas and Africa.
Dance and art are powerful forms of cultural expression, carrying the heartbeat of heritage through every rhythm, stroke, and movement. These creative outlets preserve the history, values, and stories of generations, serving as a vibrant reminder of cultural identity and communal spirit. From the dynamic drumming and fluid motions of traditional African dances to the intricate, colorful tapestries of Caribbean art, these forms capture the essence of life and heritage, embodying the resilience, joy, and beauty of culture.
The evolution of physical and visual arts can be seen as an ongoing flow of creativity, where dance and painting serve as two powerful, intertwined forms of storytelling. Both art forms have transcended generations, evolving from ancient rituals to contemporary expressions, all while sharing a common purpose: to tell the stories of humanity, culture, and emotion. Though distinct in medium, dance and painting are united by their capacity to capture movement, emotion, and the human experience in vivid, immersive ways
